About Me

Hey there!

I’m Ridhima Bhagawati, AKA Fantasizer7, AKA Story-Scientist. Well, aspiring story-scientist, and fantasizer-in-training. A little bit about me, I am 13 going on 14, and a pure-bred CBSE 9th Grader in the bustling metropolis of Pune. I’m Assamese by lineage, although my pronunciation is less than average.

7th Grade changed the course of my life. I discovered a lifeline on YouTube: a channel by the name of Abbie Emmons. To say her videos inspired me would be an understatement. Social Media is constantly under scrutiny. Social Media is addictive. It’s the most potent drug. It also saved my withering passion for story-telling. It helped me discover who I can be, it set me on the path I am today. As did Marvel Movies, Lisa Cron’s book Story Genius, and my parents’ continued encouragement towards my reading habits. I discovered the joy of books, the joy of movies, the high of binge-watching a show since you just can’t detatch your eyes from the tv screen. I even began to notice the seductive appeal of the fantasy world since you just can’t put the book down. I fell in love with the human tendency to fall for fiction. I fell in love with using words to make that happen.

So here I am. I want to craft stories that drive people crazy. I want to get them addicted, not impressed. Lisa Cron said it, when reading your story, they should forget about you. They should simply lose themselves in your story. Editor Dianne O’ Connel said it herself: “Just the act of committing to writing and striving to improve your craft via regular practice makes you a writer-that’s that.”

With that in mind, in the words of Lisa Cron, into the woods we go.
